Implats closes Rustenburg shaft after mine death

World number-two platinum producer Impala Platinum (Implats) has confirmed that a worker at its Number 14 shaft, in Rustenburg, has died.
Implats spokesperson Alice Lourens said that the worker had been part of a team carrying a ventilation pipe, which fell onto him. The worker sustained serious head injuries.
