Natgas prices plunge afer a massive rally in January

US Natural Gas futures for March delivery to $4.925 per MMBTU on Friday trading. Earlier the February contract had hit a high of $5.4 per MMBTU ahead of expiry. The U.S. EIA said in its weekly report that natural gas storage in the U.S. in the week ended January 24 fell by 230 billion cubic feet, missing expectations for a decline of 236 billion cubic feet.

Iraqi Govt warns Kurdistan of action as Oil exports set to begin

Shahristani argues that Kurdish oil must be exported through the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO), a government-owned entity responsible for marketing Iraq’s oil. He reiterated that oil extracted from any region of Iraq, including Kurdistan, is the “property of the Iraqi people,” meaning that it is owned by the central government.

A Convenient Ride – Chinese New Year Hitchhiking Scheme Aims To Let Everyone Return Home

A hitchhiking program in China calls on private car owners to offer free rides to their countrymen traveling during Chinese New Year, which is Friday, so that everyone can go home despite the near impossibility of being able to buy plane and train tickets during this time of year.

The yearly weeklong holiday, when Chinese travel across the nation to return to their hometowns, will see an estimated 3.62 billion passenger trips, 3.2 billion of which will be by car or bus. Trains will account for about 258 million trips – tickets have long been sold out.
